Hi, I'm new here, please be kind  ::)
The driver's seat in my 62 reg Galaxy (Titanium X) won't move backwards or forwards. I can't see how to get all the trim off it to see what's going on underneath. I can't take the seat out as it won't move to allow access to the retaining bolts.
Any ideas on how to get all the pretty (?) plastic bits off so that I can see the gubbins underneath please?

have you had a really good look that nothing has become lodged in the runners?

I had a good rummage around and tried shining a torch down the runners but I can't see anything.
I'm assuming that one or both of the pawls has become stuck in the teeth of the track. The lifting bar still feels the same, ie: not loose and/or floppy.
Meanwhile, I shall carry on driving with my knees up under my chin  :o

Thanks Mike, but I don't have any malicious gremlins. :P
A bit of history:
The seat was fine until I left the car with a parking company at Gatwick for a week. When I got it back, someone had adjusted the seat both up and down and fore and aft. Up/down is fine. Fore and aft only went forward and backward to where they had adjusted it, too close to the steering wheel for me. Since then it has completely stuck. I can't blame the car parkers, as all they did was move the seat.
If I can get the plastic bit off the side of the seat, I'm sure I can dismantle it enough to have a really good poke around. :'(
