The problem I've got the car went into a ford dealer yesterday to have the thermostat changed. but I noticed now when I unlock the doors with the key the interior lights don't come on any more or when I open the doors the interior lights are no coming on. They are only coming on when I turn the Key to start the car or take the keys out the ignition it was working fine before it went in? he said that he has scanned the car and cleared some fault codes could this be the problem can They change the programming of the lights many thanks.

Hi Tony, just a thought but the interior light switch on the front light is turned on? Button "B" on the below picture...

03 Ford Galaxy 1.9 TDI 115 Ghia in Spruce Green Metallic
With cream leather interior, Full Bodykit, Remapped at 145bhp, Lowered on 18's
17 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 V6 Diesel in Slate Blue
262Bhp AWD and Factory fresh...for now!
58 Ford Transit 2.2 TDI 115 in Frozen White
With retrofitted everything except another slidey door! :)
LAUNCH X431 Pad PRO - Scanning & Coding for all makes and models done in Wiltshire in exchange for winegums! :)

Yes it's on the right setting on the light is just so annoying :(

I thought you would have done that!

What year is the Galaxy? I can't see clearning the codes would cause anything like that especially since done by a main dealer, but they can change behaviour using IDS although I dont see why they would have.

Only things I can think of might be some kind of software confusion (in which case disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes may reset it) or low battery as its supposed to cut circuits if the battery is low. I think it needs to go back to the dealer after that :(

Yes thanks very much all sorted now I done what you said and disconnected the battery and it is all working perfect out of curiosity what is the IDS

Ahh glad its fixed :)

IDS is like the equivilent of VCDS fo Ford, it's the name of the programming / diagnostic tool that Ford dealers use.
