Morning great site. First of all i had a cam break on the fuel pump end, had both replaced rail replaced car runs now but its like i have no turbo all pipes have been checked and are fine. Ive seen that there are 2 variations of cams for my car could they of put the wrong ones on car goes back into garage next week for them to try and sort it out but they seem lost too any help would be much appreciated. My car is 2010 galaxy tdci 140.

So the camshaft broke and itââ,¬â,,¢s been replaced, did they do things like check for valve damage? As a slightly bent valve could cause the issue you are having.

I donââ,¬â,,¢t know what the different cams would be for I would have thought a 2.0tdci 140bhp has the same cams fitted on all??

Also any fault codes come up?

Hiya thanks for reply as far as i know everything was checked the engine malfunction light comes on with the code being p2263 but there is no difference in the cars driving with the light on of off and  when it does come on there is no indication as to why its come on ive spoken to for and there was a change in the shafts for my model but to how it changed i dont know. My cams came from a local supplier and they said they only have one listed.

That fault code does point towards the turbo being an issue - this might be down to things other than the turbo itself (the actuators etc not causing it to do what its supposed to when expected). Theres a post in this thread > https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/mk3-ford-galaxy-ford-s-max/turbo-overboost-lack-of-power-(/msg9682/#msg9682 by Chrispb which mentions that code, I'd give that a once over if it was me.

Thanks for reply it's gone back in to garage today for a few days hopefully they find out the issue I'll post once I know what was wrong

Ok here goes turbo has been changed also the various pipes too and still the no boost/turbo any more ideas would be great as me and garage don't know what else to do now. It's booked into main dealers next week hoping they may know a little more fingers crossed it's something simple as I've thrown a fortune at it now and it's no different.

Did you check the bit in the post i linked to above? Do you still have the same fault codes?

They have checked everything hoses clips connectors even the garage don't know now.

They said the dash light hasn't come back on yet.

Ok so picked up car runs fine still no power/boost/turbo engine light back on looked at code exactly the same as it was before the new turbo and various new parts. I asked mechanic if the turbo or any of them bits need to be sync to the ecu but he said no is this the case as I've truly had enough now having spent over Ã,£2k getting it to where it is no thanks in advance your help is truly greatful. 🙁🤔

Is that still the same then? I think your saying its still driving without the turbo working and getting the same codes? The code doesn't seem to have come up often on here, you should be able to check for the broken solder joints detailed in the post I've linked to above if you haven't already done so without requiring any parts? Do you get the glowplug light flashing? If its detecting certain faults it will go into limp mode, so it will be like driving without the turbo working in effect.

The only light on is the engine management light and yes it still drives and doesn't go into limp mode it's just useless when you put hills in the journey and you would struggle to accelerate fast. Where is the box with the solder I could find it in the article would I be able to access it from the top of the engine. Thanks again.

Also would it not come complete with a new turbo or would they of used the old one.

I would expect not. Hard to say for sure without seeing the turbo but in most cases I'd have said no.

This gives a bit more info - you need to find the turbo and find the actuator (bit that moves the turbo to engage it) and trace it back, the other end of whatever connects it will be the electronic box your after

FYI - that link i think is where Chris in the other post here found the info from.

I've  got no way of getting car in the air to take off the undertray and access the turbo so I'll just have to leave it too Ford's on Thursday 😯😯🤢

Well cars gone into Ford and it turns out to be the boost control solenoid i suppose sometimes main dealers do come into their own as my local garage was at a brick wall with it and their machine never picked up on it. Hopefully this is the end of my issues.
