Hi All   Just thought I'd mention this might help others,  I purchased a fuel filter from Euro car parts off there ebay site
which clearly shows the 2  O rings in the listing, however on delivery no rings, so I contacted head office and they say they don't come with them.  returned it to my local store 28 miles away and the guy said that it's correct they don't come with the rings. I told him that euro's own site shows them. The filter was a Crosland but he said it's the same for
all the range for my car  Seat Alhambra 2001 1.9 td  worse they don't stock them as a separate item.

The seals for the valve that fits on top of the filter
The VW part number is 1J0198247

I don't recall the genuine filter I bought from Ford coming with the O-rings, I ordered them separately as I'd heard about them being a potential source of air leakage into the system if not replaced.

Strange how they are all different depending on supplier. The vag supplied ones come with the o rings if memory serves correctly.

The ones I bought of ebay for mine all came with o rings, apart from the last two years (a FRAM filter and from ATP-spaares).  That makes it about 4 out of 6 included them then.

I got mine from VW and it definitely came with them which, given how important they are, should be the case!

It's a bit hit and miss on oil filters as well, the last filter I bought from ECP didn't have either of those seals either.

Just serviced mine and discovered they've sent the wrong fuel filter anyway!

euro car parts bought the brand name "crosland";

the filters are crap, I wont touch them---a shame as decades ago they were a premier quality product---- now they are re-packaged junk.

if not buying genuine then stick to mann filters, mahle or fram as a 2nd choice, they always fit properly and come with all the seals and O-rings that are needed.

Hi,
I just want to add to the last comment as the Bosh and Mann filters I have purchased from ECP always have had the seals for both oil and fuel filters.
Regards
Jav

I bought filters from Euro which were a clearance lot - they all came with seals - at Ã,£3.00 each.
On the Square

Just going back to the filter manufacturers again, I'd tend to trust and stick with the filter manufacturers used as O.E suppliers, which would be Bosch, Mahle, Purflux, Mann etc. I've never used anything else.
