CD Driver fault

Recently bought a second hand 2011 SMAX with single CD DAB Sony stereo. The CD doesn't work so after I'd managed to take out the CD that was stuck in there from the previous owner and the small amount of change that was also in there!!! I re fitted it but it still comes up with CD driver fault. Can't see anything obvious so any ideas?

it still may have crud stuck in it,or because of the crud that was in it,its fubared the laser??

if it was mine i would attempt to take it apart and have a looksie.
