S-max centre console in mk3 Galaxy

Hi guys,

Been trying to find some definitive answers on whether the smax centre console with armrest will be a straight replacement for the,  in my opinion,  poor effort the galaxy has (basically a cup holder and coin tray on the floor) but no one has confirmed although I suspect it will,  well only one way to know for sure...

Looking on eBay I've found the console,  been ordered and will be with me this week so by the weekend I'll have the answer!!  Will keep you updated

Cost and to make the TitX more desirable probably, VW did the same thing with the Touran and Golf center consoles so then everyone had to retrofit that to get the armrest!

Hi mirez, I'll take pics as I'm going along.. Don't know if it's fitted to the titx but mine is the ghia x pack and doesn't have it... But will soon fingers crossed

i find with mine its a shame it isnt a tad higher for my elbow.
i do like the 1 fitted to my missus 'tiguan' not only does it slide forward but it also has a ratchet system to bring it up as-well.

To answer my own question.. YES AN SMAX CENTER CONSOLE FITS PERFECTLY INTO A MK3 GALAXY..  Pics to follow...

sorry for opening such an old thread, but I wanted to ask, where you found that center console. I am thinking of replacing mine the same way you replaced yours, but I am not able to find one anywhere.

well i would imagine its a hunt on ebay or your local scrappy,
that is unless you want to pay large amounts at the stealers?

I'm not sure if anyone will still be watching this old thread, but I've just bought a Mk3 Galaxy and I am considering doing this myself.  I wonder if you can remember what work is involved in the swap?  Is it just a couple of bolts, or more a case of dismantling half the car?  Thanks.

Thanks for that link - there are a surprising number of parts to the centre console!  I'm not clever enough to figure out how that translates into physically removing and reinstalling a complete console.  I hope Haynes will bring a manual out for the Mk3!

I know it was over a year ago, but were there any photos showing the installation (I can only see the pictures of the console by itself)?
