Hi all.  I wandered if anyone can help.  I have to replace my brake servo on my Galaxy (1st registered July 2000)  as it is leaking air constantly.  New price from Ford too expensive so looking for second hand part.  The numbers on installed unit are:

98VW2B195CB
JT87M2612100AC

I haven't been able to source any with same part numbers but there are a lot of Mk 2 units about, part number:

YM212B195DB
7M4612100E

Could or has anyone fitted a Mk2 servo to a Mk 1 Galaxy?

Thanks for your time

N

Those engineering part numbers you've quoted are completely different so I'd be very reluctant to consider swapping one servo for the other. Not only that, but I think all of the Mk2's came with ABS as standard whereas not all Mk1's did, and possibly the ABS / non ABS servos are different, I'm sure the brake master cylinders are different. Does your Mk1 Galaxy have ABS?

Thanks for your  thoughts insanity beard.  My Galaxy does have ABS.

In that case I reckon your best bet is to see if you can find a similar age/ spec Galaxy to yours with ABS in a breakers and see if you can get the servo from it.
