aux heater plumbing

hello all been a while so here i am again , noticed a leak under aux heater decided to change hose . upon removal i noticed the two metal pipes where connected straight to the other two metal pipes , and aux heater hoses had been tucked under heater out of sight .now im not too worried about aux not being connected but heater still blows hot air once cars warmed up is this normal also was this done as a bodge or correctly should i just loop hose from top to bottom or re connect up aux ?thanks for any help in  advance

The rubber hoses to the heater are not fully accessible until the heater lowered down.
If your heater is working properly then it would seem daft not to repair the leak as immobilising the heater would not benefit faster warm up times.

sorry the heater isnt connected they have bypassed it altogether the two hoses off the aux are hidden only noticed when i was going to repair the existing bodge the previous owner had done guess the aux had a fault? just wondered if the hose needed to be looped or the straight run on hose was a correct bodge lol

If you want to do a neater bypass job then you can use a straight bit of hose- this is what I did when I removed my heater for inspection.

thankyou for advice done just that  but had to use jubilee clips hope they work fine , time to think about new tdi i thinks mines bout had it lol thanks again as always what a forum
