Wiper linkage incorrectly replaced

Help this is driving me mad !! I have successfully cleaned and replaced my seized spindles diligently following the post on here but I seemed to have somehow gone wrong when putting everything back together !!
The wiper motor resets itself to what I assume is the park position but it seems to be back to front . The first thing the wipers want to do is move downwards into the engine bay and I cannot see where I have gone wrong..... as it stands at the moment my park position leaves the wipers in the up position at the sides of the window screen ......:where have I gone wrong ?

How apart did you take the mechanism? Just the end's or all the ball joints?

Possibly just the wiper arms are in the wrong position, I'd take them off - run the motor then go to the "off" position, wait for a few seconds and then turn the ignition off. Give it another few seconds and then push the stalk down to the "single wipe" position briefly. This should put the motor into the service position (check to hear it move). Reattach the wiper arms in the fully up position (ie, where you say they are currently parking) and try that.

Hi thanks for your prompt reply I took just the end ball joints off to get to the spindles left all the rest as they were

Could you just clarify which model of Galaxy you have? Your details list an '05 Mk1- but the Mk1 ended production in about 1999.......

Ok, have you resolved the issue? When the wipers are parked and at rest, and the linkage viewed from the top, the linkage rods should be sat in approximately the same position as in the below picture. If they're not then the rods are probably incorrectly set up, or the motor wasn't in the parked position fully when you refitted the wiper arms:

Success .... Finally ...many thanks insanitybeard  for the pic it turns out I had the arms incorrectly fitted !!!. A quick look at your pic and I could see straight away where I had gone wrong ,  took an hour to take it out rectify and refit many thanks

Glad you got it sorted! I've fallen into the trap myself of not paying enough attention when dismantling the linkage as to how the rods are set up, so taking pictures or making notes as you go can be invaluable!
