Hi everyone Im about to change flywheel and clutch has anyone tried a single mass conversion on the 150 bhp mk2 ? Is it worth it or should I stick with the dual mass? Cheers

You planning to do it yourself? My clutch has just started slipping and I am debating whether to do ghe job myself or pay the Ã,£800 and get a local garage to do it...

SMFs are largely known to create a harshness, they are of course theoretically more reliable but at the cost of a smooth drivetrain.

DIY, god no I left the trade nearly 20 yrs ago I worked on mk2 &3 escorts cortinas& sierras. My daughter married a spanner monkey so he does it for me. My days of laying under cars are long gone. Yeah think will stay with the dual mass, cple thou miles more me thinks but then again I do do 1k per week lol, thanks again for ya help m8

Had a flywheel issue with mine , noisy when clutch raised quite when pressed , ordered new dual mass flywheel kit and new driveshafts , when old 1 taken out it was a solid single flywheel , drive shaft knackered aswell , so I would recommend a dual mass
