'Door open' warning sound MK1

Hello,
I've got a little question here.
Should a galaxy have a 'door open' warning sound from the factory?
Or is this only in the UK? And how about the MK2?
I've never heard it on my Galaxy.
I'm asking this myself because i've heard it in the next video (from 1:08 min. on):

My Mk2 Ghia makes an audible beep as well as displaying a message on the instrument cluster if a door or the tailgate is open whilst the ignition is switched on, I'm not sure if the LX and Zetec models also have this feature though.

I don't recall my Mk1 doing it but the Mk2 certainly does.
