Hi
Has anyone had any problems with intermittent starting with a 06 plate galaxy Ghia. One minute it's ok next it won't start, it turns over but does not seem to fire up.  Easy start will get it going but don't want to relay on that all the time.  Had a diagnostic no fault showed up, garage cannot do anything until it shows a fault all day they had it started every time.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Don't ask me why, but my 130tdi is reluctant to start if fan is on speed 2.
Try that?

Hello Bonnila  welcome5

Sounds like a fuel supply fault, has the fuel filter been changed recently.
2016 Vauxhall Insignia Elite Nav in White 2.0CDTI Manual.
2023 VW Transporter T6.1 SE In Silver 2.9TDI 150PS. 7 Speed DSG Wheelchair accessible day vehicle.

With VCDS lite (full version) need a code clearing or want to scan for faults in the north kent area, PM me. All for a pint of Strongbow.

yeah had that changed today but it still is not right.

yeah changed it but still no joy  >:(

My car have the same problem before, AA, garage, ford dealer can not find the problem,

and my friend fixed it for Ã,£0 cost,

Its the cable leak, one damaged cable next to engine.

see if u have the same :) good luck

I've been experiencing the very same issue with our Galaxy for some time now.
Convinced it was a fuel fault & have read that changing the filter has cured the problem for some, but the other day I found one of the fuel return pipes coming from no.2 injector was leaking.
I had read on another forum that these small pipes were heat sealed onto the plastic connectors & couldn't be removed. So, in order to resolve the problem, I bought a new set of fuel return pipes from my local Ford dealer for the ridiculous sum of Ã,£57.59 inc. VAT. An absolute pain in the a@#e to install, as it's impossible to install in one piece without dismantling half the components on top of the engine. Removing & reinstalling the tiny circlips which hold the plastic connectors in place is also impossible without lifting the injectors out .
Instead, simply remove the damaged hose with long nose pliers, as they are 'NOT' stuck on at all, and replace with heat resistant braided hose with an internal diameter of 3mm & you'll save loads of time & Ã,£Ã,£Ã,£Ã,£'s. You can buy a metre of this stuff for about Ã,£4 on ebay. I then installed a new filter & seal, before bleeding the system down with a manual hand pump.
So far, so good!

Hi all, some great ideas above, i also have a non starting Galaxy, seems to be very intermittent, however, i have on my list:

Relay 109
Fuel Filter
One damaged cable next to engine
Fuel Return pipes.

I wondered if anyone has a chance to take some cheeky photos of these things, i will be forever in your debt!

Thanks lads

Jai

If you have a Mk3 Galaxy (which is what is stated on your vehicle details) then the relay 109 issue won't be applicable, that's for the earlier Mk2 model. What reg. is your Galaxy on? And do you know what engine is in it?
