The PD ECU allows only a small range adjustment to the idle speed however this can be useful for curing irritating rattles and resonance. It shouldn't be used to correct or mask a fault caused by something else.

With the engine running, use VCDS / VagCom to access controller:  "01 - Engine"

1. Click "Adaptation"

2. Scroll up to group 2 under "Channel Number"

3. The data block with 5 digits in is the numeric value the ECU uses to determine idle speed.

4. Use the chart attached to pick the desired new value and paste it over the existing number.

5. The lower threshold for this value is 32743 and the highest is 32803, which equates to 882 and 945 RPM

6. Click "Test" and the engine idle speed should change to your new value.

7. Click "Save" to store the value as the new idle speed.

Range:
The lowest value is 32743 which is 882 RPM. The Highest value is 32803 which is 945 RPM. Values must be within this range and whole numbers only.
