hey guys. :) im gunna have a go at fixing the soggy carpet problem in the passenger side of the car. will replacing the pollen filter stop the water getting in or can drain holes ect be bunged up? seams pointless changing it if its not goin to stop the leak. cheers guys  8-)

Have you checked its not your rear washer feed pipe leaking?

nopes its not the rear wiper washer pipe thats the problem although it had popped off soaking all the floor when i got it lol. :) i put a couple of small tie wraps on the pipe to stop it doing it again.its like a foot spar in there but ive got rubber mats down in the front so it hides it a little.

Have you checked the left and right hand side of the scuttle panel beneath the wipers as dirt and leaves can clog it up there causing water ingress.
Also make sure when you fit the new pollen filter that it is seated correctly as water can get in that way too.

The scuttle is prone to clogging up if you park under trees a lot. Take a read here on the entry/exit points: Galaxy rain water drains

When I changed my pollen filter recently I couldn't believe how many leaves and how much mud and other crap was in behind the scuttle up against the bulkhead! I pulled as much as I could out but I think it probably needs a quick blast with a pressure washer to shift all of it!
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Last time I did mine I did just that as I had took the wiper mech out. Removed the sound deadening and blasted it all out, be aware there is a large foam pad (where the pollen filter would be on a LHD car) on the drivers side. You wouldn't want water to go down there given its around where the CJB is!!!

cheers guys. i was planning on taking the wiper mech out as the wipers seams to be getting slower in opperation so i can grease em up before i put them back in. sure i read on here it makes the job easier to change the filter if the mechs out anyways. :)

Changing the filter wont stop water entering the car if that's where it's coming in, although it should be changed periodically anyway.

You may do well to remove carpet and insulation completely to observe as there are other places such a seams in the panels around the bulkhead and wheel arches or if you unlucky rot in the area behind the wheel arch liners, the windscreen bonding is also a known leak point
