Hey guys.
Just bought thd TDCI 59 Plate and as I drove off it started giving problems.

spanner comes on the dash as soon as i hit 40mph then the vihcle will drive, but wont let me go past 50mph.

Im getting mixed views. Ive put in for a full service first thing monday morning.
I was told it was a transmission issu and a service on the gbox will sort it.

Then I was advised that a service wont sort it, not to waste my money get the gbox looked at.

Lastly I was advised to get a reconditioned gear box.

Can anyone here point me in right direction.

Before speculating on the fault best course of action is fault code read,if it's transmission related the codes should indicate that.

It's got a spanner light across the dash.
But I was told aa secure on the gearbox won't help
