Title: Multifunction steering wheel problem on Galaxy Mk3
Post by: LostinEurope on October 31, 2013, 08:30:52 AM
Hi all,

Can anyone enlighten me where the main connector linking the Multifunction Steering Wheel to the dashboard wiring is situated and how it can be accessed?

I've had problems for years where the cruise control buttons stop working or work intermittently, same for the hifi control - even to the point where pressing the Vol- button results in a volume increase!  :o

The local Ford garage has "fixed" it twice  >:( saying it was a bad connection - which I'm sure is correct but I would like to know how to "fix" it myself in the future!

Cheers

There will be a couple - the steering wheel will pass into a clock-spring (a spiral of wiring to allow moving) there will be connectors on both ends of this and then probably another one at the base of the steering column.

Thanks for the info - I'll take a look when it isn't blowing a gale and pouring down outside ...
