Hello All,
I am planning to add some lighting to the bottom of the front doors to act as puddle lamps. I intend to add them into the Interior Lighting wiring, but I am hoping that someone on here may be able to tell me where to find an easy and suitable location (near the door to avoid removing too many panels) to tap into the wiring, and also which wire would be a great help.
Has anyone already done this mod? Any help will be appreciated!
I'm assuming the Zetec spec has got reflectors in the lower door instead of lights?
Pulling the circuit into the door will be the PITA, you can pick up the feeds from any point of the interior circuit but you'll need to take the supply and the ground in as the circuit is ground switched! Check if the wiring is in place for the foot-well lights - that's not uncommon on the Zetec so you could add them and take your feed at the same time.
Iv'e noticed my Mk3 has just reflectors in the doors, they don't light up but it does have puddle lights but they are under the mirrors.
same too on my smax chris.
Oddly enough, same here ;)
Ok I popped out the reflector and there does not seem to be any wiring present for puddle lamps (or anything else for that matter). Can anyone tell me where is the closet point to the door I can tap into the interior lighting circuit?
Or where is the switch to activate the lighting circuit, as I could use this instead - but I cant see a switch anywhere...?
Thanks!
