Title: Wipers
Post by: Aoife on October 13, 2013, 06:42:19 PM
Can anyone please help.  The wipers on my ford smax 2009 started going off as and when they wanted and then this only happened once the alarm went off for no reason.  brought car to 1st garage and they changed the fuse and said this was the problem but 10 minutes later wipers on again.  Ended up bringing car to another garage and he referred us to the main ford dealer.  they told us it was a module gone so they replaced the module and charged us 200 euro.  brought home car and before i was gone 3 miles for garage the wipers were on again.  they then said it was the fuse box and we needed a new one we located a 2nd hand fuse box and they fitted it it was from a 2007 s max but they assured us it was compatiable with our car.  drove car home and before i got home, the wipers were on the the hand break light was on and enginue failure was up on the dashboard, we were just after parting with 400 euro at this stage.  i dont believe our whole fuse box was gone its going into its 3rd week and please could anyone out there share some light.  kind regards   aoife

 welcome5 aoife,
well i wouldve said to be looking at the alarm module which is found under the passenger front wheel arch this is a known fault, which as you have said has been replaced.
maybe you need a software update.

might be worth having a look here,to see if you have anything outstanding on your car??
