Title: Hobbies and Interests
Post by: Dr Muse on September 08, 2013, 05:02:22 PM
Who's into what? I'm heavily into sailing, fishing and mountain biking and I'm just about to purchase my second boat. A 23" Hunter Sonata!

23" wow. Why do you need a Galaxy. You must be tiny to sail in a 23" boat. Are you a Borrower? ;D

SB, I might retitle you to "The one" lmao!

I do a lot of boating myself, albeit under power and not sail! I also kayak a fair bit and am very into photography (I work for Canon so I should be lol)
Of course thats all after tickering with cars and running websites ;)

Mired. Give it a couple of weeks before you do. My wife will have properly moved out by then so it will be more appropriate!

I don't have time for hobbies at the moment.
(i) Decorating wife's new house.
(ii) Need to decorate and fix a few things in this house.
(iii) Sell this house.
(iv) Buy new house and no doubt fix/decorate that.
(v) Rear wheel bearing to change on Galaxy.
(vi) Repair/replace booster heater.

When I do have chance I do a weeks skiing (my exercise for the year!). Not sure when I when I will be able to afford that again though.

I know this may come across as bitter but I don't belief this is the case. ( Though I suppose others may disagree!)

Are we name calling now? :) lol

My DIY is taking a back seat at the moment as it's been all consuming for too long!!! Good to hear you are both still amicable though, it's got to be nicer to deal with then all the normal bitching and shouting!

I am a keen triathlete and Duathlete, however a back injury has seen me take a break from this at the moment and seem to be spending my time sorting out bits and pieces on the new Galaxy.

I used to play off single figure handicap
on the Scottish courses,
however since the old ticker started to play up
I am lucky to manage 11 ends on the bowling green.
Just sold my 8.3 metre Hurley for same reason
only reason I can afford to keep the old Galaxy
going  :(

I take it a Hurley is another type of boat? Else that's one friggin big golf club :)

I think I have one, maybe two old clubs and that's about it but I'd be game for a laugh if you lot don't take it too seriously! Either that or me and Chris can have a round of pitch and putt whilst you pro's meander round :D

Yes.
Hurley is a 1970's sloop
inboard diesel
one of the few 27 footers that
a six foot person can stand up in the cabin
4/5 berth long keel.
great family cruiser.
I think you refer to a Big Bertha
as the big driver. one of John Dalys specials

Our family hobby is Scuba diving. The Galaxy happily swallows three loads of dive gear and the flat back makes kitting up easy. The colour of our Mk3 Galaxy - Sea Grey of course!

My wife is also a mad keen gardener and the Galaxy is very useful for heaving bags of compost etc. around.

It's other use of course is acting as a removal van for our kids! My elder son and step-daughter both drive Audis with useless little boots so when anything needs to go to the tip, it's Dad, can you help?
