thinking of buying a galaxy 1.9 tdi on the T plate t runs brill goes like stink but if you try starting when warm it takes 5 turns to start but if you give her a bit of throttle it will start first turn and when should the cambelt be done many thanks
Hello welcome5
The book says 60.000 but when your buying secondhand would advise changing anyway using a kit (belt and idler/tensioner pulleys) unless you have a proper garage receipt with date and mileage not word of mouth.
Hard starting when hot maybe faulty coolant temperature sensor, scanning for fault codes will confirm.
oks thank you
chris you sure buddy?
thought the mk1 pd was 40k 4 years
later part of 2003 was changed to 60k.
Hi Greg
This is my interpretation from FordEtis site.
MK1 TDI
11-1994 to 03-2000 = 60.000 or 5 years
MK2 TDI (pd engine)
04-2000 to 05-2003 = 40.000 or 5 years Belt & Tensioner/Idlers
06-2003 to 03-2006 = 60.000 or 5 years Belt Only
" " = 120.000 or 10 years Belt & Tensioner/Idlers
just spoke to the old owner the other night and he has the full service histry for the car and cam belt was done 18mths ago happy days :D
