Just after some advice please guys. I've just finished rebuilding my new mk2 gal, and now my mk1 1.9 tdi ghia is surplus to requirements. Question is what to do with it. I can't really sell as bodywork is very untidy, and the sunroof has packed up, 2 electric windows have packed up and the aircon has never worked. It's a ghia so has lots of goodies, and I fitted an engine with 90,000 on it just 3000 miles ago along with a complete new clutch, water pump and cambelt. So was looking at just scrapping it but the price of scrap looks to be really low at the minute. What would you guys suggest I do?
You can sell that! Bound to be worth more then scrap!
Realistically, you can keep it, sell it or break it. Mk1 parts have very little value so breaking its not really an option :(
Would you say to stick it on a certain auction site then mirez as spares or repairs? It's had new master cylinder, new rear calipers, 2 new tyres. Was hoping to get around Ã,£250 for it, do you think it's worth that?
I cant say without seeing it mate, but I would put it up as used not spares or repairs. If its mechanicals are sound then its a runner - everything else is just cosmetics - I think you might be suprised.
What year and colour is it?
It's a 96 'p' plate, not sure of the colour, best I can describe its a very dark green with a metallic type of shimmer to it lol. Sorry about the description. Runs fine, only advisory was rear subframe front mounts slight play.
Cant see why you wouldn't get the asking price tbh...
