Can anyone please offer some advice regarding the engine mounting lugs which have broken away form the engine block at the rear of my 04 1.9TDI 115ps AUY coded engine.
Without these lugs there is nothing for the bracket to bolt to and so there is huge amount of vibration generated by the engine .
Having done a quick on line search it would seem that other VW owners of Jettas and Passats have had the same issue and as such there is a company supplying Broken Engine Block Fix Kits see link below:-

I appreciate that this part is not suitable for my car and have emailed them to see if they supply anything simlar for an AUY coded engine.
Is anyone aware of any such suitable bracket fix, I do fear that I may be totally stuffed on this one ansd so any help would be most appreciated.
Wow not seen that happen before! I also can't work out exactly where this is? I take it your's is broken in a similar fashion to the link?
Can't see it being game over, a metal fabricating shop should be able to sort you a bracket or in the very worst case, weld direct to the block.
Yes, unfortunately is it broken in a similar way to the link. The mechanic who services my car handed me a lug that had half a thread in it that he had retrieved from the engine tray/shield.
Car repairs wise I am useless but I do come from a machine shop background and so would be able to machine a bracket if need be . I was considering visiting a breakers to see if they had a similar engine which I could take a look at, that way I could get some dimensions for any possible alternative tapped holes in the block to secure the bracket to and then drill holes in the bracket to suit.
I did have a quick look on this forum (but could not find any) to see if there were any photographs available at all showing the area around the rear mount of the engine just to give me any ideas before visiting a breakers . Do any such photos exist at all ?
blimey,that would need some serious force to break it wouldnt it?
dont think there is a pictorial of this problem,ive never seen this problem posted for galaxy's before.

Wiil do all I can to get photographs of the repair ( if there is one). As i say I am pretty useless when it comes to doing car repairs and so would ask is it just a case of removing the air cleaner to get better access to the rear mount
The ASZ engine in the link is used in my TDI(130). Have you checked for the "diagonal gusset" :-[ it talks about?
Even if it has the "diagonal gusset" they do a kit that fixes it too linked from the page you linked to. Is that not suitable?
As I've never particularly looked at the mounting on mine, I'm not sure why the bracket wouldn't be suitable.
