hi
i have recently found that i have one dead glow plug, the car was struggling to start so checked with a battery charger on each plug and found it, i have bought some on ebay but the filament is longer haven't put them in
but i was wondering is there a standard length? the plug is the same in every way to the old one except the filament it's 30mm long and the old on is 20mm. is this a modification or do i have the wrong one?
Different plugs have different lengths to adjust where they sit within the chamber -
Your 115 is a an AUY engine and uses 21mm plugs
The 130/150 is an ASZ, ASZ1, BTB engine and uses 30mm plugs
Given the length of the new plugs it would seem they are for the 130/150 engine and not yours. The angle the plugs enter the chamber should mean it wouldn't make that much of a difference but to be on the safe side they should be exchanged.
thank you for you advice you are a gem thank you most kindly, have a few more questions to ask but not able to yet as just checking the car to make sure it's the right bits that are not working again many thanks
