Did anyone have any luck trying this? I tried it today, stripped back everything as described but found I was unable to get the whole mechanism out. It wouldn't dip low enough to get it out!!
I put it all back then the wipers were not right & smashing into each other. Though I managed to adjust them. N/s one sitting below the O/S one as it was originally! When I looked at other Alhambras the O/s is below the N/S wiper when in the finished position.
Hello Russats
welcome5
First of all I have moved your post as it wasn't relevant to the driveshaft/stub axle topic.
Have you followed the detailed instructions for removing the wiper mechanism? see the link below.

I just completed mine at the weekend i must admit i got the mechanism out no problem however, the right hand spindle that was seized was a sod to get out it took me almost two hours i nearly gave up.
Must admit i was glad i did the whole job only cost me Ã,£10 (Ã,£2 for WD40 and Ã,£7.99 for copper ease) Both wipers are working like new.
The only thing i would say is be very careful when tapping the spindles out as i rounded one of mine off slightly at the top but, luckily i managed to repair it.
If you have the patience its definitely worth doing took me nearly five hours in total but 2hrs was spent getting one spindle out saves hundreds the cheapest i found when calling local garages was Ã,£350 and that was to fit a second hand part and ford wanted over Ã,£500 cheeky sods also told me i couldn't get a washer i thought i had lost through the engine bay separately as it came with the mechanism strange how i called Volkswagen and they stocked the exact same washer for Ã,£1.10.
I have been to Ford three times over the past couple of years and found each time their parts dept have been useless you learn more from reading up on this site - Thanks again FordMPV :)
Good work!
Re, Ford - 90% of the car is VW Components. I suspect Ford can only buy assemblies instead of individual components for some things. You'll probably find that washer is from another VW model hence they can order it but Ford can't
wait until you ask fords about booster heaters,in there view it cannot be taken apart and mended.ONLY SELL YOU A NEW UNIT.
as mirez has said always ask vw 1st before fords.
