hi guys. ive got a v reg galaxy with a problem im hoping you guys can put yer finger one.  ;) ever since i bought the car the rear windows have been faulty.they roll half way up then roll down again which is annoying but i put up with it. >:( but now the passenger back window has decided to stop working all together and all i get is a loud whiring squeal when the window switch is pressed in either up or down.........any ideas guys.? cheers  8)

the cable may well have over spooled,hence it goes 1 way then back down.
take the door card off then inspect the regulator and motor.oh if its anything like the fronts you need 3 hands.

what can happen,is that the cable over runs on the plastic spool.
this then strips and no matter what you do it will keep happening.
they sell repair kits now on ebay or obtain another regulator.
iirc on the fronts the mk1 and mk2 are different size BUT  the wires themselves are the same size,coz when mine went i got hold of a mk1 version and took it apart hence why i said you need 3 hands coz ITS A P.I.A.to do  ;)
now i do not know whether the rears are the same size so its goner be a gamble,but take the thing out and carefully take it apart,photograph it as you go so you can check how the thing goes back.
