Title: Towbar fitting
Post by: pabinlove on June 12, 2013, 12:20:41 PM
Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before, cannot scroll through the forums very well computer dead and on a phone! Anyway my question is when fitting a tow bar to our galaxy does the rear bumper have to be cut? And detachable or fixed what is preferred. Many thanks Paul.

Didn't have to cut mine to fit but you have to remove the steel part of the bumper cover, you need to keep this if your likely to remove the tow bar at a later date.
Mine was the fixed type.

Fitted three and none have needed cut's (Two detachable and a fixed) - I can highly recommend the detachable Bosal one :)

detachable bar on mine has a cut in the bumper, I think it's something like 2cm deep, invisible unless you're under the car looking at the towbar. It's an old one though!

How easy are the electrics to fit. How much do you want for the bar

How good are you with electrics would be the question to ask! There is a guide on where to connect into in the reference library and since it's all accessible from the tailgate it's easy enough for a competent DIY'er! :)
