Ok, so VCDS scan complete and a whole host of faults to look at... Not sure if I'm delighted that VCDS worked so well or depressed that if found so many codes...
Can anyone help with what I should focus on fixing first?
00652 Gear Monitoring
27-10 implausible Signal - Intermittent
01491 Glow Plug for Heater (Q9)
36-00 Open Circuit
00962 Terminal 30
002 Lower Limit Exceeded
01314 Engine Control Module
49-10 No Communication - Intermittent
I'm guessing Gear Monitoring fault might be the route of my auto gearbox problem (sticking in first gear when cold).
Any feedback appreciated.....
Dave
Well first thing is to clear them and see what comes back!
00652 Gear Monitoring is normally generated by a mis-match between the speed sensor and the gear sensor. Replace the speed sensor :)
As Mirez has said make a note of the codes then clear them and see if any return as they may be old faults,
00962 Terminal 30
002 Lower Limit Exceeded This is simply a flat battery at some point.
01491 Glow Plug for Heater (Q9)
36-00 Open Circuit This is the glow plug needs replacing in the booster heater
Ok, so cleared codes and ran again and the 00652 Gear Monitoring fault is back again. How easy or not is the speed sensor replacement? Is this sensor on the inside of gearbox? Anybody have a part number? It's a 2002 TDi auto.
Many thanks
Dave
