Title: Auto holding on to first gear
Post by: BridgeyBoy on April 29, 2013, 10:57:12 PM
Hi all
2002 TDi auto with 122k on the clock. From cold, the car will not change from 1st to 2nd gear. Once warmed up (5 minutes idling) it changes up and down fine. I have changed the gearbox oil - twice to make sure its pretty much as clean as it can be- but no improvement. Fluid level is ok. Any ideas on this?

Possible wiring or solenoid fault, you will need to scan the transmission module for fault codes to assist diagnosis.

And welcome to the forum

Thanks for the reply. Tried to scan but getting the 'no response from controller' error. Tried various port settings etc but no joy. Im planning to try it on a mates laptop to see if it works on that.

Is it just the controller that causes the error or all of them?
