Hi everyone! Having suffered 6 x punctures during the last 2 years which, on 4 of those occasions, resulted in a complete write-off of the tyre, I have turned my mind to tyre insurance. One of my tyres (a lovely Michelin Crossclimate which cost the best part of £150) lasted less than 50 miles before I got a screw stuck in the sidewall!!! As you might imagine, there was much swearing that day. By the way, I don't take the racing line around roundabouts or drive 2mm away from the edge of the road where all the nails and muck is, I drive generally quite slowly and in the middle of the road. Nor do I drive over potholes or the like on purpose, I go out of my way to avoid them.
Now then, my mind turns towards tyre insurance. Most of it looks like very poor value for money. For instance, Kwik Fit offer insurance for £15 per tyre. But it only lasts a year! Other insurers offer insurance, but your car must be less than 7 years old (what difference that makes in terms of the risk of getting a puncture I'll never know, but that's their eligibility criteria nonetheless).
Any ideas for places to get good tyre insurance on a car which isn't a new one? I'd normally avoid insurance like this, but I'm getting punctures every couple of months now despite careful sensible driving and it's getting beyond a joke.
Thank You!!
