Hoping someone might be able to help please with a problem on a Ford Galaxy 2.0 TDCI Ghia 140BHP Auto 09
Wife has owned this for a year, very nice car no problems before now.
After a drive she said the ESP dash light had come on a couple of time, by sound of things seemed to be when turning into a drive or parking.
Took car for quick spin and no problems going along straight, but when turned at low speed the light come on, and then I when reversing on full lock back into drive the Power steering malfunction warning come on.
Took for another short drive, power steering seems to be working as normal, no obvious hissing sound or juddering.
Not sure if this would have any relevance but only thing we can think of that occurred recently (the day before) was - we had a garage reset the headlights for correct level as it had failed on the NCT (MOT)
Googled and read of similar ESP power steering malfunction fault warning issues occurring, but seemed to be several possible causes & some ongoing! from faulty sensors / pumps to software issues.
Unfortunately like many we are not currently flush with spare funds, so stressed at the thought of spending money at a garage to find the fault has not been solved.
Anyone know if this is likely a definitive issue or are we possibly facing a trial and error.

Cheapest way is to get codes read and see what is logged, then go from there. As a stab in the dark it sounds like it's wheel speed sensor related to me given it happens on corners. Possibly a bearing going bad causing strange readings?
Possibly cheaper to get hold of a lead for Forscan and use that, not sure what they cost over in Ireland, the one I brought was around £20 and theres nowhere round here you'd get a code scan for that sort of money. Does need a laptop though.

Not recommending any specific one as you'd need to look into what would go through customs etc, and that one coming from the UK probabbly not your best option, but its something like that your after. Or better still borrow one from someone else if you can.
I'd be suspecting the sensors personally on the wheels - either damage to the wires, or sensors past their best. Really your only option there is diagnostics to stand much chance of isolating it to a single wheel.

Please excuse my late reply, I had to go away for work, my wife will be taking car into a mechanic later today to get a diagnostic check done.
Wife took car in to autocentre for check. Similar to my test drive they also see no obvious sign of any fault with steering, fluid level ok, no obvious fault on braking system & again had ESP warning light come on when turning circle at low speed back into garage.
Apparently they tried to reset steering wheel centering - but fault remains light still showing
Diagnostic check (not sure what system they used)
they are not certain! but 99% as diagnostics show error with Steering Angle Sensor
They said replacing it should fix errors!
Part alone costs @ €350 (I checked uk Ford & £287)
Looking through some posts here where people have had similar ESP lights & issue not resolved by parts replacement, Any thoughts? as really don't want to be spending a lot of money on hope.

Not checked the footwell, but could this fault if present possibly throw these warnings, or?

I would be inclined to take it to another garage for a second opinion, sir.
Sometimes garages just swap parts over, hoping that it will work. The more technically able garages will be better at pinpointing the problem, saving you money on unnecessary parts.
Every localish Ford Dealer is so busy we are going to be waiting a week to get a check by them.
Forgot to mention (assumed not relevant) a few days before light first came on we had 2 new rear tyres fitted.
I recall checking and resetting the pressures to driver regular load (can't recall now if before or after light warning) they were set to full load.
yesterday
I reset the tyre pressures to full load & no warning lights seem to be coming on now on a few same drive test as done before.
Does anyone know if lower tyre pressures could be connected and.
btw the warning does not stay on as a message on the dash, when you restart the car no messages are shown!
