Title: loss power or die while on the move or driving
Post by: oludarekolade on January 14, 2022, 02:14:12 PM
Hi Guys, i have a ford galaxy 2.3 petrol engine with an automatic gearbox, i noticed that since i got the bus when i disconnect the battery terminal for a week it won't start whenever i attempts to start it but if i wait for some few minutes, to be precise 45minutes then attempt to start it, the engine will start normally and indicating no-fault, aside this condition, i also observed that when i drive for a short distance the engine will lose power, then i have to wait for another 7-25minutes before the engine can crank again. so far, i have replaced the kick-starter, yet this condition still remained the same. can anyone help me out on this issue?.

Thanks.

Have a look on here for relay 30 for more info, the short version is to pull the fusebox out, locate the relay numbered 30 and either replace it, or remove the cap and resolder the large joints on it.

If you want to confirm its that, then the led on the drivers door should flash rapidly when trying to start but unable to, and the diagnostics will fail to connect when the fault is present.

The other thing it might be being an auto, is if its not detecting it being in park or neutral for the failure to start. Any objects hanging off the gearstick may not help there, but its worth checking the gear selector display shows the expected gear. As to how that mechanism works on a Galaxy I don't know, having not had an auto one personally.
