Its not quite that strait forward, the MFD1 is a rebranded VW unit whereas the 4050 is a pure Ford unit.  The MFD1 uses coded pulses to control the radio and the Ford uses a resistance ladder, fortunately the Galaxy uses a steering wheel controller that supports both but you'll need to rewire the output from that into the back of the MFD, you can't reuse the wiring already in place. You also need to recode the controller to output on the VW lines rather then the Ford.
