Is there a DIY code reader / diagnostic box that will read and display Ford (galaxy 2.3 2004) central locking sensor states?
I know about the usual wiring issues in the door hinge area. I've got an intermittent issues where all locks stop working except for the driver door and petrol cap. I can't find any broken wires. I suspect a lock actuator or maybe the controller. I saw a VAGCOM video where it showed the status of the door lock sensors and wondered if there was a DIY reader that shows this (cant remember if this was a ford) or alternatively is there any software for an ELM327 that shows it?
if VAGCOM will do it you'd probabbly find VCDS lite would also do it, and a cheap vcds lead off ebay would be the cheapest option for that.

I'd suspect your issue is a duff door lock motor if its not wiring. Next time it happens try disconnecting the doors one at a time to see if you can find the problematic one. Also note that the wires can come out of the connector in the pillar area (the large round connector is made up of several smaller connectors and these can seperate from the rest). Also check the tailgate wiring if you haven't previously done so as this does effect the other doors as well.
