Hi again friends!
I have recently gotten myself a cable for the Alhamb's computer system and have been scanning it for codes. He he. It came up with various codes. I cleared some of them but I wonder if they will return.
Some of them seem self explanatory but I was wondering if any of you could help me with understanding more about what they mean please. I have copied the codes below. Thank you very much!

1 Fault Found:
01548 - Sensor for Parking Aid; Rear Right (G206)
30-10 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent
Looks like you need to either replace the rear right parking sensor or fix the wiring to it.
Dosing pump I think is the aux heater and would explain why yours doesn't work. though it seems to have a bunch of faults on that, if you search for the error codes like 01409 on here (flame out, suggesting that the heater has gone out when it shouldn't have done), you will find what most of them mean, That many would suggest to me to start looking for bad connections (rusty and corroded electrical connectors for example).
The fault on KOMBIINSTRUMENT VDO V66 of no communications I wouldn't worry too much about unless you think theres a problem, it may be down to selecting not quite the right option or vehicle? That would be the instrument cluster I think its trying to scan there.
00526 - Brake Light Switch-F
28-10 - Short to Plus - Intermittent
This is pointing towards a faulty brake light switch as it says. Most likely the switch has failed, it may still work in as much as switching the brake lamps on as it currently is, but may impact on other functions (cruise control possibly).
Thank you very much Brian, this is really reassuring!
The dashboard lights seem to work fine, so as you say I think I can ignore that kombi message as probably being due to it checking for something no donââ,¬â,,¢t have.
I found the problem with the brake light switch - I think itââ,¬â,,¢s something to do with the warning message you get when you first switch on the car but havenââ,¬â,,¢t yet pressed the brake pedal. If I press the brake pedal at least once after turning the ignition on and before running the VCDS computer unit scan, the message disappears.
Which then leaves me with 2 ââ,¬Å"realââ,¬Â problems: the parking sensor (now have a plan for that) and the aux heater. Iââ,¬â,,¢ve cleared the codes on the aux heater and will eagerly await the winter to see what comes back. Given there are so many codes, it does perhaps suggest somethingââ,¬â,,¢s up with the wiring. It would be good if there was a way to turn the aux heater on manually so as to see what codes I get, but I suspect I may end up spending a lot of time this winter testing it all out on the driveway he he. A very useful feature because the Alhamb 1.9 Diesel engine is so efficient and doesnââ,¬â,,¢t produce much waste heat for the heating system!
Make a note of then clear the codes to see what comes back.
Regarding the auxiliary heater first make sure the run on pump at back of engine bay is working when engines running, the heater wont run correctly without this.
An added problem with the D5Z-F heater which yours is likely to be does suffer with it's controller getting fried, there's more info on this in the knowledge base.
This causes false info to be given when using VCDS and blames the dosing pump and combustion motor when the controller is the fault.
You can switch on manually. The temp switch is clipped to wiper linkage assembly on the nearside.
Just unplug and bridge terminals out,if fit a manual switch on dashboard in place of the air temp switch.
