Hi, friends!
My kids are quite heavy with their fingers when pressing buttons and the rear electric window button (the button on the rear door handle) has broken. Basically they can now slide the window down but can't put it back up again because they pushed the button too hard and must have broken it somehow. Consequently, I have to wind it up using the buttons on the driver's door controls.
Does anybody know how tricky it is to replace that button and which parts I need please?
Can I just buy a button or do I need more than that? Is it a horrendous job to remove it (plastic bits splitting and breaking off, lots of cussing and screaming in frustration) or is it actually quite straightfoward like a 5 min task with a screwdriver and a nice fast switchover of parts, as easy as changing a lightbulb or something?
It is a Mk2 Alhamb (2005 model) - one of the finest vehicles money can buy, so I'm keen to look after it.
Thank you again very much!
Its a doddle of a job, have a look at the ref library post on removing the door card. Basically you just pop the handle up and detach the switch - under 5 minutes and just a couple of flat blades needed.
Thank you very much!!!
Have a lovely evening 8-) 8-) 8-)
Yep, was indeed very easy. Just clipped off and I tipped the switch upside down and it would seem that the kids had somehow filled it with sand. Poured the sand out and now it works fine again. He he! Thank you
