Mornin, I've noticed I'm getting a sort of rotation noise I think from the front nearside. It seems to be in sync with actual wheel rotation as if there's a bump on the tyre but it isn't I've changed it.It only seems to happen when it's done a couple or so miles maybe when somethings warmed up maybe.Ive jacked it up and spun the wheel and can't hear it anything catching.Problem is unless it's had a run any mechanic won't hear anything.Ive not been doing many miles so I'll see if it gets any worse but any ideas ?
Just been out on a 3 mile jaunt to the shops did it by the time I got there but was fine on my return journey,it's more of a dull tap tap noise worse when turning round a corner.
CV joint or a stone in the tyre tread?
Yep have changed the tyre so looking like the latter maybe, I'll see what the next couple of days brings.
Give it a good run out and make sure you use the brakes as much as possible. Quite possibly rust build up on disks from car not being used much
Ok am going on a 40ml round trip mainly motorway in the next couple of days I'll see if that does it 👍
Was just a bit wary.
Had a wheel bearing do similar, when I got it out it had a small pit in it and was only apparent under load.
Well, I've done about 70 motorway miles in the last couple of days including 30 today and it seems to have gradually stopped.Weird, I thought it would have gotten worse if was a wheel bearing or CV joint.Maybe a good runs just sorted it out or is just waiting to surprise me at a particularly inconvenient moment which is usually the case.Watch this space.
Sounds like it was just rust build up on braking surfaces from limited use then. Hopefully thatââ,¬â,,¢s the end of that now
Hope so pal, these odd noises can be a bugger to find.
Yeah are the brakes nearly needing replacement, sometimes that can cause it too in which case maybe change the discs and pads
Or could be something that grinded down with a bit of travel
