When I go round a bend that's quite long, so like a roundabout. The ESC Service light comes on.
I'm guessing it's some kind of sensor that would detect if you were corner too hard, to apply the ABS and stability control?
I forgot to mention that it goes off again after 2-3 minutes of driving.
I would guess at lateral sensor or a wheel speed sensor but a scan of the system should reveal the cause
What is the best device to use to scan? Torque app any good? Or laptop and a cable better??
Torque won't tell you anything beyond the powertrain itself. Forscan works with most Ford vehicles, and is free once you have the lead for most purposes. Don't know if it works on the MK4 Galaxy though.
Iââ,¬â,,¢ve got Forscan for my Mk3, I wonder if anyone can confirm if it works on the MK4.
I'd just try it since you've already got it? - from using it on the mk2 it will only show what it can access (not a lot on the mk2 but it does do the PATS system which most stuff will not go anywhere near).
RESULT
Hopefully thatââ,¬â,,¢ll solve the problem.

Impressive
New battery was fitted just before I bought it. Looks like itââ,¬â,,¢s messed it up, perhaps a steering recalibration is required? Not sure if FORSCAN can do this though?
ABS/Speed sensor replace. Easy job to be honest. Bit of a nightmare to get the plug off though. The red tab has to be pushed away from the plug.
