The Vehicle Identification Plate is actually a tamper-proof sticker on the Mk2. Located in the engine bay:

The plate contains vehicle specific information as detailed below:

1- Vehicle Type Approval - Legal Approval for Use on the Road
2- VIN Number / Chassis Number - Unique Identifier
3- Gross Vehicle Weight - Maximum Total Weight of the Vehicle
4- Gross Train Weight - Maximum Total Weight of the Vehicle including any Couplings (Ie, Trailer / Caravan)
5- Maximum Front Axle Loading - Maximum allowed weight on the Front Wheels
6- Maximum Rear Axle Loading - Maximum allowed weight on the Rear Wheels
7- Emission Code - Emission Coding
8- Chassis Type - All Mk1/2 Galaxys have a Chassis type of WGR
9- Emission Standard - Regional Code
10- Paint Code - Colour of the Vehicle
11- Trim Code - Colour of the Interior
12- Final Gear Ratio - Output Ratio from the Gearbox
13- Gearbox Fitted - Gearbox Coding
14- Engine Fitted - Engine Coding
15- LHD/RHD - Left Hand / Right Hand Drive
