Title: mk 1 window regulator drivers side

on trying to fit a new drivers side window regulator to the motor the spool unwound   how do you get it re tensioned and onto the   motor   can you help

yes its a right P.I.A.
this is where you need 3 hands,

when i done this to keep the tension on all parts i used my foot,i kid you not.or you could use a vice or something similar,took me a few attempts but got there in the end.

thanks for the reply   .after 10 attempts  8 garages and ford main dealer all said it cannot be done  .its great to know it can..  i will try again any other info on how would be great thanks  A.J

not really,just look at it logically,take your time and once youve done you will realize its actually quite simple.
