hi
im very new to this but I am having a serious problem trying to source a dmf for my mk1 galaxy , great runner except fot this issue , can anyone advise where I can get one from please , ive tried all local factors etc ,
I apologise if this is in the wrong place for this sort of question but really need help
What engine has yours got? Euro showing a Sachs one for a mark 1, nothing for 2.3 petrol so assume that has SMF?
Microcat only shows a flywheel with part number 1050699
https://www.allcarpartsfast.co.uk/ford/ford-1050699-flywheel-assy/ list this at Ã,£583.85 which is too cheap to be a DMF at Ford prices. I'd agree if its a 2.3 to expect a SMF not DMF.
Might be worth confirming what your issue actually is as theres not much to go wrong with a solid flywheel unless its ended up missing teeth or chewed up by a worn clutch?
Indeed, there is only one type flywheel for the 2.3 manual which is SMF. this is the same number for the mk1 and mk2.
When I did the clutch on my Mk1 2.3 (1999 vintage) is was indeed SMF and I doubt very much they ever revised that between then and 2004 when the 2.3 was retired.
