Title: Finding the Paint Code
Post by: alexdukes on July 01, 2020, 03:52:32 PM
Hi Everyone,

I have a Galaxy 1.9TDi Ghia 2005

I am desperately trying to find the paint code for my car, I can't seem to find a sticker on any of the slam panels and there is no sticker by the hinge on the off side under the bonnet?

Any ideas of other places to look?

Thanks

https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy-common-faults-and-problems/galaxy-vin-plate-location-trim-engine-gearbox-and-paint-codes-(mk2)/

Thats where the VIN plate is located on ALL mk1 and Mk2 Galaxies, nowhere else so it should be there and if its not there I would be extremely cautious as to accepting the car, by making sure you've checked all the other VIN markers against the V5.

Pop a photo up and I can probably ID the colour for you from that.

Sadly, I have no sticker there!

I have attached a picture of the car, I know it's silver but which one!

Make sure U get those coil springs, brakes and cv joint covers done tho... my motto when it comes to cars is ââ,¬Å"Safety First, Alwaysââ,¬Â

The car looks amazing, gorgeous colour and such good looking paintwork

You should be able to find it from microcat by using the vin, I can have a look but won't have access to microcat till next week if you want to PM me your vin. At least that will tell you the colour name which is usually enough to get paint of the right colour.

Could it be the one they call ââ,¬Å"Machine Silverââ,¬Â perhaps

Yes, that's 100% Machine Silver Metallic.

Galaxy 2000-2006, Diesel 1.9TI (130PS), Machine Silver (Metallic)
VIN Number:   WF0GXXPSSG5K256**

You should check the VIN on the bottom of the windscreen matches the V5 and the above, happy to give you the last digits in private if wanted.

Thank you, I'm so proud I got the colour right by looking at it! Fords have such lovely colours, all of them. I once had a Mondeo is 'Tourmaline Green' it was lovely. A friend of mine has a silver Ford which has a tint of blue to it, I've always wanted a car that colour!

My main tip would be to try and avoid black if possible because it absorbs heat and also white because it gets dirty quickly but silver is good because not only does it look classy it's also very practical and heat reflecting too. That said, all the colours Ford do are absolutely lovely
