hi for bench testing do you know what colour wire is the live black brown or blue managed to toast mine
Hi Ron
[W4]
Brown/blue is ground
Yellow/black L/H. Yellow R/H = 12 volt supply
Red/blue = variable supply from levelling switch
thanks for the info on wire colours ron
sorry i am trying to test the adjuster motor with a 12 volt bat charger and i have made toast again my unit has three wires brown blue and black and i have pos/neg from the charger so the black is the live feed to the pos do i bridge the other two to the neg or touch one at a time am trying to see if the motor spins at a breakers before buying thanks
Seems the colours change from the ten pin connector to the internal wiring of the headlamp unit which converts to;
Brown = Ground
Blue =12 volt supply
Black = Variable supply
You sure its a 12v supply Chris?
Dunno why but 9v sticks in my mind for some reason...
The supply is from the dipped beam fuse, the supply from the leveller could well be around nine volts depending on the position of the switch
