Title: turbodiesel.cc
Post by: mike wilson on January 25, 2020, 07:29:52 PM
Has anyone used these folks?  Despite having a domain based in the cocos islands, they were (or still are) previously known as Londonturbo4you and the website seems genuine.  It's just that their prices are so unfeasably cheap.....

Yes I have I had an Alfa/gm 1.9jtdm recon turbo off them. Arrived well packaged and looked spot on and properly overhauled. Received deposit back quickly. Turbo worked fine with no issues in the 12 months I kept the car.

Thanks.  How long ago was that?  There are even more issues with the company than I first thought.  Accounts late and suchlike.

Late 2018 if I recall correctly.

Had a good chat with them today and went ahead with purchase.  The cost is about the difference between full cost and discounted on sites such as onlinecarparts or europarts.  Ã,£210 for me.  Will report back on result.

Was the turbo good please. I once bought a reconditioned turbo and it was terrible, the company refused to believe their item was at fault even though it was. So I left one star on google and did a chargeback on my credit card. Always pay via PayPal if u can. Reconditioned turbos seem a bit hit or miss but I think most of them are fine, itââ,¬â,,¢s just when u have a problem that it can get difficult I think.

Not fitted yet (insert redface emoji here) for a couple of reasons.  It's a pig of a job on my vehicle so I have farmed it out.  The guys who will do it are usually incredibly busy and then COVID struck...

As a result, my car has done less than 200 miles in the last three months and, with things (slowly and probably temporarily) getting back to normal, I'm likely to be at the back of the queue again.  Rather oddly, the enforced layoff seems to have had a good effect on the stuck vanes/overboost issue.  I can't get it to happen at the moment.

As far as I can see, the unit supplied is well-built and certainly much, much cheaper than anyone else.  I will report back as soon as it is fitted.
