Title: Well here we go again
Post by: Jakehands on December 11, 2019, 01:04:21 PM
Right currently over 100 miles from home and sounds like my locking mechanism on my mk2 galaxy has give up all other doors open apart from drivers side. All im getting is unlock sound, click unlock sound, click and then it gives up. Ive pulled the door card and dettatched and reattatched the cables to see if that works. Nope lol. Any ideas? Also checked driver rear door harness and all is fine there. Thanks for any help

I think you will find if you pull fuse 19 that should stop the locking working automatically, so at least you can lock the doors at that. Sounds like a faulty lock motor to me if its not the actual wiring going to them causing the problem, generally unplugging the motor in question should allow the others to work properly.

Yeah it all locks fine just on unlock it plays up and cant open the door. May have to cut it out and get a replacement was just typical as i was telling my nan it was "reliable" lol wont mention that again

So got it all sorted local scrappy let me have on out there only galaxy there for a tenner. The i was stuck with how do i open the door. I took off the door card brute force style upwards, then snapped the white casing out of the locking mechanism (pictured below) and was left with the other picture. If you wedge something under the spring loaded part and push up (need 2 people) and unlock from the outside and pull the handle it opens fine. Switch mech now all working fine :)

That suggests your problem lies in the superlocking or deadlocking mechanism, least you got it sorted. Managed to get a matching door card or can you salvage yours?

Yeah was just wierd. The white part if you move it up/down it locks/unlocks there are some blackened areas on it so im assuming it got stuck. My door card has seen better days but its back on. One in the scrappy was mouldy so left it
