Hi guys. Daft question. Where is power steering resevoir on my mk 2 1.9 tdi galaxy please?

By the battery with a yellow cap on it. If yours still has battery cover fitted you will need to remove that first.

There is nothing to indicate it should be in the Haynes manual, and I don't recall seeing anything about it on the service schedule either. You'd probably want to change it in the event of changing a steering rack or pump though, or if its become contaminated with something, but not otherwise.

As far as I know the power steering fluid in my mk1 and mk2 has never been replaced. Still in both cars the fluid is looking good and clear and up to the specified level as I do check it frequently.

Thank you everyone, I suddenly got worried that I should be changing my power steering fluid but thankfully it seems thatââ,¬â,,¢s one if the few fluids in the car that never needs changing for maintenance purposes
