Hers a weird one.
Galaxy 130 tdi with 181k on clock. Nearing end of life due to rust, mot due next month needs front tires and a drop link at least.
Still runs like a dream, fast, comfortable and returning 47mpg this week.
On a slightly damp M6 on Sunday, 50mph zone ended, put foot well down, and as turbo kicked in strong, revs went up from 2200 to 2400 for about a second then immediately dropped back to 2200.
Could make it do it one more time.
Thought must be clutch (done 100k since LUK fitted)
Since then been up and down Dale and steep hills without a hint of slip!
Tried the usual tricks to prompt slip, revving up in 3rd going uphill and dropping into 6th, no slip at all.
Problem is, if its clutch, not worth spending Ã,£1000 on clutch and mot, so will have to scrap, hoped for one more year 😢.
Opinions please?
If you have only had happen twice and not been able to induce a slip I would just keep driving it as is. If you are gonna scrap anyway if it does pack up you might as well just continue using and see what happens.

Was thinking along those lines, but worried throwing good money after bad.
It's a shame, it's been a great car, used as a van for 8 years, then family transport. It's like seeing an old friend fade away 😢
I know what you mean but there comes a point where you have to part ways and put money in to something else.
