Hello, friends.
Does anyone know how far up the dipstick the oil should be? I have a 1.9 TDi and it has a sort of fuzzy rough section inbeteeen two kinks in the dipstick. I usually fill it to the top kink but a friend says it should be within the fuzzy area. What do all you expects think? Thank you
Anywhere in the hatched is OK, do not fill above the top mark.
The bottom notch is minimum, top is Maximum, as said above anywhere between is fine (though obviously running on the minimum isn't recommended as you have no leeway for any leakage then). Overfilling is a bad idea as it causes problems elsewhere (leaking oil seals, burning excess oil among other things, some of which are more serious)
