Hello everyone. Please does anyone know how often Seat say I have to change the timing belt in my 2006 1.9TDi automatic 115bhp Alhambra. Thank you all
Sure I remember 80k/8 years was the interval but I only let mine do half that distance before changing
Hyenas says change it every 60,000
BUT, it also says that interval should be halved ( 30,000) if the vehice is bieng used for a lot of short/stop start journeys
I got mine at 89,000 and fitted a new cam belt and water pump so's to sleep at night.
The PO said he'd done it 'a while back' but with no hard evidence I played it safe.
80,000 for the Aux drive belt BTW
The Giulietta I got mrs had been done 5k before we got it but for peace of mind I changed it myself at least that way I know it has been done as complete kit and correctly.
Not sure Haynes is correct though as donââ,¬â,,¢t ever remember PD being 60k
I've seen figures of 90-100K quoted, but personally would stay well within
the 60K mark if only for peace of mind.
I don't clock up many miles a year but would be putting mine on the todo list at say 130K (41,000)
How many years would that be as I would look at 4 year 40k
I understand that the earlier (up to April 2003) (I think) were 40K, later than that is 60K.
Mine is Dec 2003 and is definitely 60K , although I usually have it done at 58K, just on 180 K now.

Mine's not a daily driver and current usage suggests 10 years to reach 139K
which does bring up a time over mileage service interval question.
But, as the belt is new, I'll worry about that later and watch out for other thngs likely to drop off :-)
