Hi guys,  I'm sure I'm being dense here, but i have a w plate mk 1 galaxy, and 8 need to get the rear door cards off to replace the speakers.... Front was no problem (I know have a large supply of the little yellow clips!), but the rear ones are baffling me... They seem to be held on with magic. I don't want to damage anything I don't have to, not that you would notice it against the background of other broken bits lol, and i cant find a guide for the mk 1....just the mk2 which has different trim/handles etc.... Any help gratefully received

What windows are in the back? If its manual you need to remove the winder handles first (prise apart gently, theres a clip you can then remove and then the whole handle pulls off). Only other bit i can remember needing to remove was the bit behind the handle, but you probabbly remembered that as the front ones are the same.

If you can find a trim clip tool (looks like a forked mini crowbar) and locate the clips, you can usually manage to get them removed intact.

As I have taken off all 4 door cards over the past week for various different fixes, the back ones have total of 9 clips, 3 both sides, and 3 on the bottom. Overall the process is basically the same as for the front panels.

The 3 on the bottom are attached to the door card plastic part which is stronger than the rest. Thus they can withstand more pulling.

The 3 on both sides are attached with plastic 'extensions' that are glued to the door card. Most of mine were pulled off since the yellow clips are stronger than the glue that holds those extensions.

As I still have one of my rear door covers off, this is what it looks like from the back side. Note that only 3 of the 5 slots on the bottom are in use (both ends and the middle):

Thus be prepared to glue back those extensions to the sides (note the L shape pressed marks on the door card where the exact location of those extensions should go). Also be prepared that many of the yellow clips will partially break. May still be usable later though.

The top part at the window edge slides in with up-down movement. So it is important that the card removal starts from the bottom where you pull straight towards you, the sides will follow, until all 9 clips are either off or broken off. And then lift the door card upwards to come out from the window edge.

When having to glue back any of those details don't use regular silicone or super glue as it won't hold over time (previous owner had done that).
