I took a 2 week holiday and arrived back home last Saturday. I thought I'd check my tyres etc on my car which had sat in the drive whilst away. The car seemed to have great difficulty starting - but eventually ran albeit a bit lumpy. I noticed there was a strange noise - rather like a leaking air line or similar. I thought that maybe there was a hole in the exhaust - which seemed unlikely as it has only been on a year or so. When I got down on the deck and looked it took me a few seconds to realise what was wrong - someone ?'@~#** had nicked my Catalytic converter! My car was in my drive - not on the street and I had always thought I live in a low crime area!. Wrong!!.
I have ordered a new cat and down pipe because they damaged the down pipe by cutting through it. Ã,£150 later I am waiting delivery of it.
Life can be really irritating sometimes! :o
Well that sucks ;(
Sadly reasonably common as the Galaxy Cat is big and therefore has more of the minerals in it and also it's nice and easy to get under.
I've actually bought a couple of Galaxies recently that were insurance write offs for this, on both they had cut through the downpipe and center section meaning the car needed a full replacement exhaust. Shocking.
